We love to live outside during summer. Who doesn’t? It’s the perfect excuse to take things a little slower and to just enjoy being under the sun with the ones you love. And while a lot of our time and attention is spent on our outdoor spaces, it’s also a great time to focus on the inside of our homes. This summer, when you’re not outside, look for ways to bring summer inside and to create a cool flow from room to room.
The Venetian style for interior design is very Italian grandeur and inspired by the city itself, it has a slight romantic vibe. Another major element of Venetian design is the creative flair and artistic vision that is both classical and very magnificent - you only have to look at the architecture of Venice's town-houses and plazas to get a sense of the style. The Venetian style is one like no other - unique and with a defined identity to turn homes into a modern day masterpiece. The cities Gothic era also has a strong relation on the style and the love for rich decoration as well as their once close relation with the east and renaissance styles.
I am a total fabric junky (some would say hoarder), and I particularly LOVE to collect little bits of bright cotton. There tends to be a bit of a problem trying to justify having SO much tiny little bits of fabric, and cathedral window squares give me a great excuse!!!Cathedral windows is a stunning pattern, that really looks great with all sorts of a variety of scraps. It is done entirely by hand, so it does take a certain amount of patience, but it's worth it! Personally, I find hand sewing to be very relaxing, so I'll work on it a bit here and there, when I need a break from other projects.
